The Marathon starts in Greenwich, circles around south east London, over Tower Bridge, and then comes through Canary Wharf, down our street past our flat, then up The Island, and over to Westminster. We went and sat down on the road side with Lisa and watched the 35,000 odd runners go past. I felt tired watching them! And some were odd - the costumes - but all for raising money for charaties. Once more a series of bands and entertainers lined the routes, and the crowds flocked to the course to cheer on everyone. Many had hand scrawled their names to their shirts; random people yelled encouragement to these people by name. The BBC does a live broadcast across the capital, and the event feels more like a carnival.
